Repair or replacement?
A single breakdown does not tell you whether the whole system needs replacing. The fault, equipment condition, repair history, and available parts all matter. Replacement deserves a closer look when problems keep returning or the property now needs something the existing system was not designed to provide.
Compare the work involved in both options. A repair addresses the identified problem; a replacement project also needs to account for the indoor and outdoor equipment, controls, and any changes to the installation. A low equipment price alone does not describe the full job.
