DUCTLESS SYSTEMS

The thought of renovating a home to install central AC can be overwhelming. The cost and amount of work are daunting, and as a result, many homeowners decide against it. Ductless systems are a great alternative to central air. They are just as effective as other systems, and they don’t require the same home renovations. Turn to us for a consultation. We install systems throughout Staten Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey.

Benefits of a Ductless System

  1. Increased Energy Efficiency- you only turn on systems for the rooms you want to be cooled. If you have a large home, you do not need to cool the entire house overnight. This feature drastically reduces energy consumption.
  2. Fewer Repairs- in a traditional HVAC system, leaks can develop in the ductwork. A ductless system has fewer moving parts, so it is less likely to break.
  3. Consistent & Comfortable Temperatures- a typical AC system has one or two different speed compressors designed to cycle off and on. This cycle keeps a home at a consistent temperature (what is set by the thermostat). A variable-speed compressor continually adjusts to keep a room at your desired temperature.

How Ductless Systems Work

First, an outdoor unit is installed on your property. This is like a heat pump or air conditioning system. A ductless system absorbs heat from the air, cools it with refrigerant, and finally transports the air into the home. A ductless system does not utilize ducts to transport air through the house.

Systems are easily installed by drilling a small hole into the home in the room you want the system. The outdoor system connects to the handlers installed inside your home. One outdoor system is typically enough to power four handlers. To find out about installing ductless systems in your home, you should not hesitate to give our team a call.

The Importance of Regular Maintenance

You want to take care of your system like you would a car. Because of the system’s moving parts and extensive use over the summer, it is common for systems to run sluggishly and need repair. If you take care of your system, it can last for 20 years or more.

Our team has the tools and the knowledge to make installations quick and easy. The Steps to Installation Are:

  1. Pick a spot on the inside wall to mount the ductless heating system

(the owner can choose the most desirable place, and installation can begin from there)

  1. A hole must be drilled to allow the inside system to connect to the condenser outside
  2. The system is attached to the proper electronics and pipes and then is mounted to the wall
  3. The condenser will then be installed outside the home
  4. After installation, the piping is connected

Air Rescue’s experience and expertise can help ensure that your system is installed where you want and that the overall system is running optimally. We stand by the work we do. Besides installations, we can help with repairing and maintaining mini-split systems.
